The story of our engagement, the proposal part, is one best told in person and we'll be happy to do so at the wedding. However, we'll share some of the story with you now.

The question of when I knew Lisa was the one usually results with me saying "from the moment I met her." In the beginning of our relationship Lisa and I spent a lot of time in Tahoe during the winter months. We started out as coworkers, then friends sharing life stories and our desires for a great life. It was in those moments that we both realized the new friend we had made was much more. It was obvious that our lives passions and desires were very similar.

Over the next couple years our lives were filled with many incredible adventures. They ranged from fun local events, dinner parties, a crazy event in the dessert called Burning Man, traveling and many snowboarding trips to Tahoe. There were so many incredible experiences, however, our snowboarding trips to Tahoe always held a very special place in our hearts.

In trying to choose where and how I would propose to Lisa, the setting seemed to be an obvious choice, it would happen somewhere in the snow. It took a few attempts to coordinate the right moment, but, it all came together with a trip to a resort in Tahoe called Kirkwood.

I was a complete mess the day of the proposal and wasn't doing a great job of hiding it from Lisa. We finally got on our snowboards and headed up the mountain. All along I was planning to pop the question at the highest summit. Needless to say I could barely think straight, but, I pulled it together and asked Lisa to marry me from the top of the mountain. I even had ski patrol take photos of the moment. It took a few times for Lisa to realize what I was doing on one knee and mumbling something about love, life together and becoming my wife. Eventually she said yes and now a new adventure begins...
